The lean manufacturing system applied to an auto parts industry in the heavy vehicles segment

This paper aims to demonstrate how the adoption of a continuous improvement program, based on lean manufacturing tools, can benefit production automotive filters for heavy vehicles, considering improved productivity and reduced operational waste, with consequent increase in effectiveness cost reduction. In this study we used mainly kaizen value stream mapping. During its development, application project line aimed obtaining increased better distribution physical space, through reduction rework time, downtime due maintenance setup time. The use instruments presented study, guaranteed viability improvements productive sector. work allowed observation consistent capacity, increase, time waste. best space arrangement items by process were also achieved consolidation two lines.
